Converting AVI Files to QuickTime Movie Files

The easiest way to convert movie files from Video for Windows format to QuickTime format is by dragging one or more AVI files and dropping them on the utility icon. You then select a destination folder and the type of movie format. After converting the files, you can double-click the file’s QuickTime film icon to play the converted movie.

To convert an AVI movie file (if the utility is already running):
1. From the File menu, choose Convert.
2. Use the Directory list box to select the files you want to convert.
3. To place the files in the Files To Be Converted list box, choose the Add or Add All button.
4. Choose the Convert button.
5. Select a Destination folder where you want the converted files placed.
Normally, the destination folder should be the same as the source folder.
6. Choose the movie format you want.
7. Choose the Save button.
